I am a professionally trained voice artist and have been coached by Monaz Ranina, one of India’s finest voice-acting trainers. Having vast experience in different genres of voice-over work, I am adept in all kinds of narrations in English – for promos, TV commercials, corporate presentations, audiobooks, advertisements, e-learning, digital marketing, podcasts, explainer videos, documentaries, etc.

I have a voice quality which is clear, rich, warm and pleasing to the ears. The tone of my voice varies from mid-range to deep. I speak in upscale Indian English with a neutral accent, in varying styles, which can be friendly, engaging, professional or conversational, depending on the script that I am doing. Having a pleasant voice is not good enough in the highly competitive voice-over market. An aspiring voice-over artist needs to learn the finer nuances of modulation, intonation, cadence, diction, and narration. All of the said skills can be developed only with mindful practice under the right kind of mentoring.

Getting voiceovers right is a carefully balanced mix of precision, simplicity, clarity, soulfulness, and pacing. Too fast -the retention goes down, but too slow – boredom sets in. A voice artist must recognize that our ears have sonic biases and that we hear certain syllables more clearly than we do others. It is possible to improve voice quality with the right voice and articulation exercises. It is knowledge like this that makes one a successful voice-over artist.

Coupled with the finer nuances of narration, the present-day voice artist must be able to function from a home studio with high-quality output. It is impossible to become a successful voice-over artist without practical knowledge about technology such as recording equipment (the right type of microphone, audio interface, etc), post-production software – Digital Audio Workstation (DAW), sound treatment of the recording space, editing techniques such as noise removal, EQ, compression, normalization, etc.
